Just recieved a harmony 880 as a gift but am considering returnig it. I have had one in the past before giving away and found it to be vey good. Does the Nevo exceed the quality and functionability of the Harmony 880? Does it still run macros- 1 touch and watch a movie? Flat out is it worth it??????

nevo blows the harmony out of the water in every aspect possible. the only thing the harmony offers that nevo doesnt is "remembering" power states. which from all the posts i've read in the harmony section is very unreliable and nothing but a gimmick anyway. if the 880 was anything worth while you probably wouldnt have given it away. ;) i don't think anyone has ever given their nevo away. haha

PS:yes yes and yes to macro, one touch questions. the nevo is an absolute breeze to set up with all the one touch macros your big heart could desire!!

I sell both, NevoSL's for the theatre and some general zones in a whole house system and 880's for lounge or master bedrooms.

The 880's smart state feature is handy if any of the equipment does not have discrete IR codes and is quick and easy to program. It is very reliable and I wouldn't consider it a gimmick, even though I did before I used it and understood how it worked.

The Nevo gives you great flexibilty in design of screens and allows you to control a lounge, theatre or a whole house very intuitively. If your equipment doesn't have discretes then you need to be a bit more creative when it comes to putting together macros such as one touch 'Watch Movie'.

The remotes are miles apart in terms of features and functionality, but each have a place in my offering.

If you let us know what equipment you have then that might help.

I offer both remotes as well and while they both have their goods and bads, I must say that I side with the NevoSL because it's just a better overall offering (the remote itself, programming software, etc.).

Karmann is right in that in that comparing these two is a little tough; one being a hard button remote, the other having less hard buttons, but a beautiful touch screen.

Both are easy to setup, but the Logitech's online setup is little on the tedious side, especially when you have to tweak settings.

NevoStudio (the application for customizing the NevoSL) is actually quite fun to use (as fun as moving buttons around a screen can be I guess, lol). It's just so much more intuitive than any other remote control programming software out there.

Sometimes I've had the Harmony's "smart state" macros work great, but other times it has caused me hair loss. When I program a NevoSL, it may take a few more minutes to create the macros (which are still really easy to create), but at least I know it'll work right every time.

There are many other things that come into factor but to answer your question; yes it's easily worth the money.
