I currently have my Nevo SL successfully controlling my TV, DVD, Satelite receiver, but I also want to take advantage of a wired network I've just installed by playing audio media.

However, I've searched various websites and I don't seem to be able to get a definitive answer that I can fully understand on what equipment I need. I have a desktop computer that currently holds my rupped CD collection on and the Nevo is able to locate the audio files and play them to my laptop as a test, but want I really want to do is stream music from a NAS device (e.g. Q-Nap) to an exisiting Sony Amp.

I was originally looking at a Q-Nap and Squeezebox, but from what I understand this won't work with the Nevo.

Does anyone have a definitive answer on what equipment I should be buying as a NAS and media player ?

checkout Dave's website: [Link: remotequest.com]

Nevo uses UPnP to stream media, so you need UPnP enabled servers and players which Nevo controls and there is a document with supported devices there. Also checkout the recomended settings for your WAP.

These days alot of NAS drives come with UPnP server functionality, but not all behave as well with Nevo.

Thanks for the link.

OK, so the D-Link 320 media streamer looks like a solution for the interface between the amp and media source, but does anyone have experience of a NAS running one of those software packages pre-installed ? I'm after an out-of-the-box solution.

TwonkyVision 3.1 is part of the list. Although I've never used one myself, but many friends have already installed the IntraDisk with this UPnP server pre-installed on it.

Here's a link to products with Twonky:

They have a list of other NAS drives which you can install the Twonky if you know a bit about Unix,...

Cheers and let's get ready for the big 007!

I have heard very good things about Tversity but have not tried it yet. Those who have reported, it is the best software media server available and does a complete uPnP process, plus more options.

I am currently sending music to a Roku Soundbridge M500 with the Nevo. The Roku can access files on its own with the Roku remote or the Nevo can push music to it. It can be wired or wireless, comes with a wireless network card and an RJ45 connector. It has analog stereo or coaxial digital output.
I only have one Roku so I don't know about multiple streams but I can stream to the Roku and out of my PC and portable computer simultaneously controlled with the Nevo.
