I just wanted to check, before I purchase a 2nd hand Nevo SL...

Can anyone create a Nevo username/password or is it via reseller only? If anyone can how? Through the NevoStudio software? Online somewhere?

I dont want to end up buying a 2nd hand device that i cant configure/upgrade

Thanks

PS: Im in the UK, dealers here only tend to sell the product (retail boxed with software) not install.

NevoSL was created to be a product that is sold and configured by a custom installer. The 'certified' custom installers are the ones who have access to the support, documents, web, etc.
NevoSL is not supposed to be sold 2nd hand, in order to protect the CI market.
Unfortunately, there are always a few bad apples - even among CI's - who insist on selling through the web/EBay etc. They are only hurting those customers, as ther is no support for end-users.
Your best bet would be to go to the MyNevo.com website and find a CI in your area who is working with Nevo. [Link: mynevo.com]

Well I bought mine from a bad apple on ebay to replace a Pronto.
If you get the software with it then you will be able to create a username and password, make sure you register as an installer and you will get access to updates etc. The only problem I had was that the Nevo website remebered my email address from when I had embedded nevo on my old Ipaq and told me I was already registered, so I just used a different email address.

I am very pleased with the nevo and nevo link, the software is very good much more intuative than pronto edit and if you like setting things up yourself then I'm sure you wont need a CI and if you need support then whats wrong with this site

Hmmm...I had a call from an ebay buyer the other day. His unit is now dead and he is trying to find an installer to help him out. I usually help most Nevo SL users but had to draw the line here. He is hosed because he cannot get support for his dead Nevo, due to his ebay purchase.
