We've been working with Nevo Studio for a couple of days now. Unfortunately the software seems to be quite buggy. The project view window is supposed to give a visual representation of the devices and pages on the remote. But when I attempt to load one of my files, a large red X appears in the project view window and an error message pops up. I've uninstalled/reinstalled the software and have tried every other troubleshooting step I can think of. Nevo's knowledgebase is still not very mature, so they didn't have any notes on this issue. Anyone else experiencing like problems w/Nevo Studio??

I've done dozens of Nevo configurations using 3 different PC's now, and have never encountered this issue (or any really, the software has been pretty flawless for me, after getting used to the GUI.

Sorry I'm not any help, but just wanted to give you a response, so you know this isn't something that happens to everyone.

Have you tried calling UEI?

btw, you mentioned that an error message pops up... what does the error message say?
Also, what OS are you running?

Thanks for the reply...I'm running Windows XP Pro w/SP2 and all of the latest windows updates installed. I did email UEI and got a response asking for 20 details or so. This is probably something local to my computer-it is nice to know that you've configured several SLs without a hitch...probably just a corrupt file.

Here is the error message:

"An unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click continue, the application will ingnore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will shut down immediately. Object reference not set to an instance of an object." It shows a Details pop-down button, a continue button and a quit button.

Again, thaks for the reply.

I would suggest uninstalling the software (all - including the media server software), uninstalling Active Sync (which the software uses to communicate with the remote), and rebooting. Check to see if there are any ODBC drivers referenced by Nevo - if so, remove them. I'd also remove any reference to Nevo in the registry. I'd reboot again. Then, I'd try a fresh install. If you are not comfortable editing your registry, then don't. Please note: all changes made to the registry are immediate and permanent. There is NO exit without saving changes option. Play in there at your own risk.

Sounds like a good time to stay away until these bugs get worked out. I've already done my share of beta testing for free....

mjmontagne- does it ask you if you want to run a debugger at all? If so, I had this problem and I hounded UEI until they gave me a patch for it. I also had to fill out the 20 questions, but now I can finally run their software.

Holy crap, it only took me a month to get back to you :o( Sorry. yest they had a file that ran off of an FTP for a patch. i would contact Nevo, and verify that the patch would also fix your problem, and then see if it fixes it.
Sorry about the delayed response.
