I sold a customer 2 Nevo SL's. He called me a few days back to say that BOTH had frozen up. Today I went over to install the upgrade.

Nevo #1: Got through Phase 2 to the point where it tells me I should see a calibration screen. The calibration screen is up but the screen will not react to the taps. If I try rebooting the Nevo it returns to the calibration screen. If I reset the Nevo it returns to the calibration screen. It's stuck there with no way out.

Nevo #2: The Nevo is frozen at the initial boot up screen. When I plug in the sync cable the laptop doesn't even recognize it. When I try the upgrade I can't get past the first screen because it says the Nevo is not connected to the PC.

So, I have 2 Nevo SL's that for now are rendered useless. My customer expects them back very soon. Has anyone run into either of these problems? Any suggestions?

Thanks.
Rick

Take em back to avad and get replacements. Don't even go down that road with figuring it out.

i know nothing about this problem but i can guess if the nevo freezes up then their has to be something wrong with the way you have the software installed on you're computer or the firmware update was not installed correctly. did you watch the video at mynevo.com in the dealer section or download the how to install new firmware pdf. files.

this is all i can tell you but im sure you could get a better answer from nevo them selfs

This is not my first upgrade. When I knew I had to upgrade the customer's Nevo I went ahead and upgraded the Nevo in my showroom. That upgrade went smoothly.

I second what Springs said.

As I always say, "That's what warranties are for".

go to mynevo.com and find the "NevoSL Device Update Utility ReadMe" pdf. Follow steps 1-3 under "Phase 1 Update Steps" on page 5. This helped me during my one (and only) freeze. Worked like a charm. It'll redownload the firmware, you'll just have to reinstall the programming. If that fails, see warranty.

Spoke to Nevo today. They qualified one of the Nevo's as adefect and are giving me a replacement. They have me doing one more test on the second remote before they declare it bad.
