After several long hours of work, and saving every so I often I notice the hourglass for saving was getting longer and longer. Finally I get a corruption error from NevoStudio and now my project won't load anymore.

I had downloaded to the Nevo a bit earlier in the evening so I thought I probably hadn't lost a great deal of work. So I uploaded the project from the Nevo. Now when I go to re-position a button and you select it for dragging, the notched box appears around it like normal but when you move the button, the only thing that moves is the outlined box and not the button. Then when you press the button which is not at the moved location but at the original location, the pushed button is displayed where the box was moved to. It is like the pushed state _1 part of the button moved but the unpushed state _0 did not move. Has anybody run into this before. Dang I don't want to start this all over, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Another issue I had initially was installing NevoStudio from the CD. About 3/4 of the way through I would get a corrupted cab file error and the program would abort installation. Finally after approx. 10 repeated attempts at installation it completed. When I downloaded the version 1.2 update the same problem occurred. Eventually it installed but has had crashing issues etc. Any help with this would also be greatly appreciated.

Possibly, did used the command within Nevo Studio, to Restore the Project? If so, it sounds like the problems of using that command. Phantom buttons are the #1 reason to have the results you have encountered.

The only fix is to try and and relate the phantom buttons back to their original link, if you know what this mean.

Thanks Dave,
Yes, I believe this is the phantom button issue. Is this a bug in the Files | Restore Project from NevoSL option?

I wouldn't have had to restore the project if NevoStudio hadn't corrupted the dad-gum file in the first place. It doesn't seem NevoStudio likes continual saves "Ctrl-S " after making changes. This is a die hard habit of continually saving work because of windose crashes in the past.

am i the only one that feels like chunking this thing across the room?

Dave, thanks for your support!

lol, thank God I haven't had the need to chuck my NevoSL across the room.

There is actually an FAQ in the dealer section of mynevo.com that deals with the issue that you guys have been discussing (I ran into this issue as well). Good news though, the Nevo trainer told me that this issue would be fixed in an upcoming release (I'm guessing this is going to be the 1.5 version that I've been hearing rumors about).

The long and short of it is that if you want to fix normal buttons (like the ten key pad, etc.), just drag a new (or the same) theme onto that page and not only will the background get rid of the "static" buttons, but the "clear" buttons will be whole again.

But as far as custom buttons go, you will have to drag and drop the same button from the button gallery onto each button (because if you drag and drop a button onto another button, it will basically just change the look of the button while still leaving the caption and action properties). Then just change drag and drop another background to get rid of the "static" buttons.

For the complete write up, like I said, just check out the FAQ and you should be fine.

I hope this helps.

Thanks Ry-dog for the info. Yes, after messing with this some more last night I figured out just what you said, however, I wasn't exactly pleased that-that is the fix. Thanks very much for your explanation.
