I Cannot get my Nevo to connect to my Wifi Network!

It can see the network and is doing some hand shake with it (As it tells me if I get the WPA key wrong) - but it won't connect to it!

Any ideas?

Help!

Disable your encryption wep key in the wireless AP temporarily and try to connect if your able to connect than reactivate the wep key and enter it.

You do have the NevoLink, yes?

Sorry, brain cramp on my part. The NevoLink is not required.

BeeJay,
Make sure you get the firmware update from the www.mynevo.com website.
The first issue it helps is WIFI connectivity.

There is a "WIFI Whitepaper" available on te website that goes through specific
issues and troubleshooting steps. Has screenshots to help as well.

1. Make sure there is only one Network Adapter on your network.
2. Make sure there is only one DHCP server (usually the main router- al other
AP's should have DHCP server turned off).
3. Make sure you reset the NevoSL (with the stylus) after you make changes to the
configuration.
4. Make sure all of the Nevo programs are "trusted" in all of your firewalls and anti-
virus programs.
Keep trying - it is definitely worth the trip!

I have it working with 128bit WEP encryption. I have (3) access points all together (including the router) and I can roam pretty well with the NevoSL. The only thing I noticed is that when doing the wifi setup on the Nevo, I needed to have the key/encryption type to Open, not shared or anything else. When I did this, my strength went from very low to very good/excellent. Working pretty good so far.

I'm having trouble with WiFi after installing the firmware update. I'm able to send commands from the emulater just fine, and on the NevoLink settings page in the emulater, my NevoLink appears in the Assigned NevoLinks box. But on the remote the NevoLink appears in the Assigned NevoLinks box with an exclamation point and the MAC address.

The white paper said this is because the device was busy during discovery. I've tried the refresh list button and resetting the remote, but no luck.

This worked fine before the update. Any ideas?

Dennis,

I presume you have re-entered you WEP key after the update. It does mention somewhere in the documentation that you have to do this.

The other suggestion is to remove the WiFi settings from the Nevo and then re find the access point, establish conection and enter the WEP key. It might also be useful to try without any encryption to make sure the two devices are actually talking.

Thanks MC, I disabled security on the access point and the NevoLink works correctly. So obviously, it's something to do with my settings. I'll mess with it more this weekend.

I think the security parameters are not entered properly or QoS is not disabled.

WPA works fine with mine... Just have to reset the device after making sure the parameters are entered properly for them to take affect.

You can used the shared mode in WEP, but you have to make sure Authentication mode on both sides(i.e. NevoSL and the AccessPoint) are identical(i.e. Open or Shared)
