When browsing a large gallery of images I stand a 50% chance of having Nevostudio go non responsive and lose any work I've done since the last save. Any ideas or at least similar experiences?

Have not seen that particular problem. How many images are in a folder? Assume you are at the latest rev of NevoStudio? Possibly there is some corruption in a particular folder?
I typically browse folders with 500+ items without trouble.
Is your system going out to a drive which may be offline, even though your target folder is available, etc? Make sure you use the icon in the systray to remove USB devices, versus just unplugging.

I have the latest version of Studio running and I work on everything from a local harddrive. Thanks for the suggestion though.

When working on my Laptop (which is quite slow anyway), Nevo Studio does become unresponsive on a large gallery. I assume it is generating thumbnails.
However, if I leave it for a minute or so, it comes back on line.
