I just rec'd my Nevo and am in the process of going through the update process. I am in Phase 1 of the update. When I started the update, the remote states that it was in USB mode. Shortly after the download to the remote started, the remote stated 'Low Level format'. According to the computer, I am still downloaeing Phase 1. Can anyone share whether this is normal and if so how long does a update typically take? Thanks

Some of the phases, particularly the Low Level Format phase, take some time to finish. Just follow the prompts and give it time. I think I recall it showing up Low Level Format at some stage during phase 1.

Thanks HiFidel,
I started the download again but think I am having issues. My computer is still downloading Phase 1 - it has been doing so for appr. 4 1/2 hours!! When the Download started, the Nevo was in USB Download mode and as soon as I started the download the Nevo stated 'LowLevel Format' - and it still does. It appears that the computer and the Nevo are communicating. Is this typical of an initial download or is there an issue I am unaware of. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Frank, I had the same issue when my computer powered down unexpectedly during an update. Click on the link below and follow the insructions under the second column titled "Troubleshooting and Repair".

I had the same problem... until I stumbled on somewhere in the manual where they do mention that you should NOT use a USB connector at the front of your computer, or through a USB hub. make sure you connect directly to the USB port at the back of your computer. Somehow, there is too much info passing through for a hub to connect correctly. Try this.

i found the phase one was taking too long also so i just hit control/alt/delete and forced my PC to close the program. i was a little worried as my nevo stayed in low level format. but i went back through NS and started the process again and everything went fine the 2nd time.

my problem is IT DIDNT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE!! i dont use wifi so did the DL soley for the Touchscreen upgrade.... but NOTHING... it still sends IR commands when touched the 1st time. = (

Strealth, I wish I could trade with you...I'm not real fond of the touchscreen wakeup thing. It'd be a whole lot better IF the wakeup function would be bypassed once you've hit the backlight button......

canbbb, I use a front end usb without any problems. That's a strange instruction. I understand the hub thing though.

Have you thought to check to see if you might get better results if you DISABLE any firewalls or virus software you may have operating when you try the upgrade!

ckelly33 : I agree with you. I have gotten so used to pressing the backlight button to switch the screen on and now having to press the screen twice is a real pain. :-(

I have been using hub for all my updaes wih no problems.

someone else mentioned this frustration before and i had planned on not even bothering with the DL. however since i changed my seating arrangment i now have the cradle right beside me so tend to use the Nevo as more of a console style and rarely pick it up -so pressing the BL button is less convenient now.

imagine our ancestors working potato fields or whatever grueling work your ancestors did, and what they would think of us and our HUGE inconveniences!! LOL
