Hello Everyone!

I have recently had a complete refresh of my A/V kit and it now stands as follows:

Pioneer A/V Receiver: VSX-AX4AVi-S
Pioneer DVD Player: DV-989AVi-S
Pioneer Plasma TV: PDP-506XDE
Sony LCD TV: KDL-V32A12U
Sony Projector: VPL-VW100
Microsoft Console: XBOX 360
Satellite Receiver: SKY+
Music Distribution: SONOS

Given that each one of these has its own remote (although the Pioneer kit has some communality), I would like to consolidate down to one universal remote. Just as a note: for the SONOS, I'm more than happy with their controller.

Now having done some rooting around the internet, I am seriously considering the Nevo SL. On paper it has a great spec. & aesthetically it looks the part. However, I have read many criticisms about it. Namely: battery life, inoperability with certain kit, hang ups/freezes and that it is difficult to program.

Given the kit I have, does anyone think I would have problems if I went for the Nevo SL?

Many thanks.

Is Nevo custom installer only on the other side of the pond?

Ijust keep pointing to my thread that it has no bussiness in the Custom World. END USERS WANT TO PLAY WITH THEM.

Programing is like anyhitng else... if you are good at it you get better results. Is the Nevo software hard to use... no. People here are always talking about how simple it is. The major rag that reviewed it stated in no unclear terms that most anyone could handle Nevo Studio.

Why something that is supposed to be marketed to CI only channels is all over the net as "I just bought this off ebay or online or fill in the blank... how do I use it?"

UEI step up to the plate make the software available from your website. Your client base is the computer oriented DIY guy. Accept it and sell to a market that doesn't mind glitches and will wait for updates.

Ok guys, I know this isn't the most exciting or original post but I could really do with some feedback. I'm already in trouble having spent a wad on the A/V kit; the last thing I need is to spend a huge chunk more on a remote that turns out to be as useful as a paperweight!

So come on, make my 1st day on this forum a useful one and bring me into the Nevo SL fold!

I have 8 different bits of IR controlled kit in my front room and I have had a One4All, a Kameleon, a ProntoPro, a TSI6400 iPronto and now the Nevo SL.

Without hesitation, I would recommend the Nevo SL. It is ridiculously easy to programme and is still in development. It has a Windows based operating system and so future software may be very interesting.

Get one.

yo vaybe if you read through the threads a little you'll find many others (including myself) have been in the same boat as you. there is a wealth of information an opinions scattered about.

heres an informative one -[Link: remotecentral.com]

in short its one of the coolest toys i've ever owned. i have around 12 devices and found it relatively easy to program. it does everything my original remotes did and ALOT more.

all the best - Christian
