I usually use RTI products for my installs; specifically the T3. However, the new NEVO SL has caught my eye. I am attending NEVO SL dealer training in two weeks, but wanted to see what actuall installers think about it unit and its software.
Thanks,

Darren

I think that it needs to work out a few little glitches (might even be fixed with the next update next week), but it has TONS of potential. A remote in this price range that has wifi connectivity and the ability to see metadata is nuts. It's also nice to look at, hold, and use. I think ergonomically it is much closer to the T3 then the Pronto series. The only thing I wish is that they would've used their own o/s as opposed to Windows CE. I'm happy with it so far.

you got to consider that the original Nevo design was a chip and IR emitter built to be used as an add on for Windows CE PDA manufacturers.

NO comparison to the PDA version. The Nevo Studio Design Guide does a pretty fair job of describing the programming. I think it is a lot easier than the Pronto by a long shot.

ceied,
I am interested in the Nevo as a sleeker replacement to the 9200. How was the online seminar you mentioned? Does it help get you more acquainted with the "how to" and capability overall?

Thanks

I have been playing with the Nevo for about a week now, but very sporadically. I am working to get a few kinks our of my programming but all in all, very sweet stuff.

I've been tinkering with one also. Very impressive so far. Once I got the little wifi hitches taken care of it's been pretty solid. I now need to play with the Escient portion of the update! Pretty excited about that one. I heard from another installer, however that so far the update only allows the Escient to sit on the network as a server. It's not a server and player? Not happy if that's the case. Hope to find out soon though.
