I am currently working on a HT job and I have an HR10-250 and a Pioneer Elite DVR57H Tivo in the same rack. I use the Pioneer for DVD's and the HR10-250 for watching TV. The problem is that both remotes work off the same codes. Switch one and the other does the same thing. What I am wondering, is there any way to program the remote to control them seperately? To make only the Pioneer respond when I want to watch a DVD, and visa versa. This is to be only a temporary solution as I will be getting a Blu-Ray when they come out.

My guess is...no. If these things work off the same codes and they are both seeing the remote at the time it is giving a command, there is no way you can make them differentiate.

HOWEVER, if expense is no object, you could place them in separate cabinets along with separate Nevo links and the IR signals would then be isolated from one another and it would work.

I agree with ckelly33.

Get a Nevo Link and set it up withthe Nevo SL and instruct the Nevo from Studio to send out IR codes for one of those components via RF only. Connect one IR emitter from the Nevo Link to the front of the component, and blank out the remaining blast-emitters built into the Link with the blanking IR plugs. Tape over the stuck on IR emitter. That should do the job (in theory...)

You may want to try the procedure on page 115 of your HR10-250 manual and see if this will help. It is designed to work if you have 2 HR10-250's - so you can address them independently.

Not sure if it will help here - but worth a try.

Like Ted said, you can set each Tivo up to respond to a different remote setting. Check your HR10-250 manual to see how to do this.

It is possible to have 2 tivos in the same room using different codes - at least for series 1 tivos. We dont officially have tivo in Australia and there is an open-source movement which provides support and information for people who want to purchase series 1 tivos and have them work here. On the Oztivo web site are instructions for using 2 tivos in the same room by getting one of them to recognise a different IR code set. Not sure if the info is of any use to newer tivo's but it may point to a way to solve your problem without resorting to multiple NevoLinks. The link is: [Link: minnie.tuhs.org]
Please be aware that everything on the oztivo site is not for commercial use, and the contributers are keen to keep it that way.
Hope this is helpful, Peter.

You can absolutely do this. I have this setup in my house (except the 2nd Tivo is a regular series 2). I have the 250 as "command set 1" and the series 2 as "Command set 2". Be careful to make sure you don't leave either of them as command set 0 or it will respond to all commands.
I can't speak specifically about the Nevo (I am on this forum deciding if I should replace my TSU3000 with a 7500 or a Nevo as a matter of fact.)
