The firmware update (NSP 3) fails and when the remote is rebooted all I see is the Nevo splash screen.
This is a known bug and there is a workaround described in the FAQ on Nevo’s homepage. I can set the Nevo into USB download mode, but this does not really help me, the device is not recognized in NSP neither in Windows Mobile Center (Win 7 64bit).

Any known fixes for this problem ?

I was told that NSP doesn't play well with win 7 64 bit. I ended up using my Vista laptop to do the programming and have not had any problem.

Got the issue fixed, the troublemaker is Windows Mobile Center.
If you "connect without setup the device" it works fine.

I am having this issue with windows xp. I connect the nevo q50 press "connect without setup the device" and it won't download a file because it needs a firmware update. Hit firmware update pulls up the screen saying turn it off and put into usb mode. The unit goes into usb mode but then the software just hangs like it can't find the q50.

**the windows update fixed the problem. you just have to try updating it multiple times**

One thing I have learned in this industry. It is easier to pull a wire than it is to push one.
