I was a Pronto user and have since switched over to the Nevo. I have little to no regrets. THe Nevo is easier on the eye, easier in the hand, and easier to program (although the programming on the Pronto is easy too). The biggest and only disadvantage I've seen with the Nevo is the Wi-Fi's battery life. UEI has updated the firmware (user upgradeable) which has really extended the battery life quite a bit already. For a long time, I simply turned my WiFi OFF which extended my battery life from hours to days. Recently I've turned it back on and with all the new power saving options it's go a full day no problem. The biggest temptation to use WiFi is the way the Nevo organizes and controls your PC's media library right there on your home theater speakers...very slick! if you go compare the units side by side the Nevo will sell itself. i was also on the fence with these 2 products. if you read past threads you will find me asking the same question and see the responses i got.
i prefer the nevo because -
-it looks cooler -one handed ergonomics -easier to program

I got my NEvo SL off of eBay from an installer who will warranty it for me if I have any issues. I got the remote AND a Nevo Link IR bridge for $685...what a deal !
BTW I do not need the IR bridge if anyone is looking for one.

ElectriGal: Both are easy to use but the overall form factor of the Nevo (i the feel in your hand, the layout of the buttons, the quality of the screen)....Nevo hands down.
If I were in the market for one, I'd talk to Dave D'Arche here on this forum. By browsing this forum, you can easily see how he provides knowledgeable and friendly service to anyone in need.

Eletrigal, being in the UK, you should email Nevo and have them refer you to a european dealer.

thanks for your input guys, can you tell me if there any faults or considerations with either, like compatibility to digital tv and also tuning ease?
Also do you know if there are limitations in relation to controlling a hard-drive for our dvd recorder that you might have experienced?
oh and fooled you all, its a very very strong aussie accent Im afraid! ;)

LOL!! good one carl.
electrigal, i have an HDD DVD-Recorder and there are NO limitations created by the Nevo. the Nevo will do EVERYTHING you original remotes did and ALOT more. the only limitations you will find is if you original remote was RF instead of IR. but that is rare, and NO universal remote will overcome that issue.
programming wise i havent dealt with the pronto but from what i've heard there is a pretty steep learning curve to program it. in fact a regular here, Dave D'Arche, wrote a guide for programming it which i'm sure would help one along a great deal. at the same time if a 3rd party needed to write a guide, then it cant be a very intuitive program to start with! where as the Nevo is quite intuitive if you have experience with windows, which most people do.
