Hi,

I would be really grateful if someone could direct me to a IP Music Server that works with the S70, where I can enter the IP address of a music server and then select the music tracks from the S70.

Thank you in advance.

Richard

Nevo has 2 way drivers for Squeezebox, iPort dock (rs232) and Escient Fireball premade in the software. They also have a "plug in" for Sonos which can act as a music server.

I am looking for one that will work with the Bryston BDP-1 that works via a IP address website, ie Minion etc. Thus I just need to find a web browser media player that works via the S70.

What TimmyS suggested would work much better than a web browser on the S70.

As the screen size is small, web browser control is not the greatest.
However something that has a specific driver made for it will give you a much better user experience.

There are many UPnP / DLNA media players available.

Also.
Just to make sure that we are not getting our wires crossed.

Web browsing control is different to IP control.

What exactly is it you want?

Meridian Sooloos has IP control and web browsing. But these are implemented in two completely different ways.
Also the web browsing is not made for a mobile size touch screen.

Hi,

The Bryston BDP has a RS232 connection and also an ethernet connection so the software that comes with the player can be accessed via the network or also by 3rd party software ,ie the IPad/Iphone etc that are capable of being connected to the network. Thus, I am after a player software that works with the S70 that can see the network and thus allow me to control the BDP.

If there was something like the Squeezebox wiget that could be adapted for the Bryston then that would be great, I just don't know how to do it, let alone where to start.

I am not familiar with how Bryston implements their software. Does the hardware act like a web server and the software log into the internal Bryston web page (via a browser) and control the unit that way? If that is the case you could make a button on the s70 point to the web page in the Bryston "server" and control it that way from the remote. Most likely the page is not scaled to fit on the tiny screen of the s70 though and depending on the type of page may or may not display properly on the screen or cause the s70 to choke. Call Bryston maybe they have a page scaled to fit with the proper size and graphics type. If not ask them if they will give you their RS232 commands and or IP command list. Then at least you could potentially control the piece with the remote save for feedback.

If the Bryston program is a standalone doubtful that you will be able to hook into it with the s70 or any other remote.

NeVo is history now so not likely they will be writing a 2 way to control the piece via the s70. They only had like 6 full 2 way rs232 drivers when they pulled out of the market.

Have Fun!

Hi Timmy,

That is exactly what happens on the Bryston.....they do have a format for a small screen however, the Nevo does not recognise the "buttons" so is useless. Thus my journey to find a small screen music player that works with the S70.

....Nevo history - have they gone to the wall, or just pulling out of the market, thus the S70 is no longer supported ??

rtichief,

If there is such an animal "small screen music player" it would have to control the Bryston hardware you have via the "software" running in a browser window, why would anyones software do this? If you could get the IP Commands from Bryston, create buttons, put the commands on the buttons and you are golden. The other thing you might investigate is the capabilities of "widgets" (I have not used them myself) RTFM on that.

At January CES Nevo announced "we are sold out of Q50 in the US, no more will be produced" "we have 600 s70's left and C2 and C3." "I (the national) am out of a job in April as are the dsm's" "Tech support lines will be good for one year""We are disenfranchising all distributors as of April 1"

Sounds like they are down for the count to me..
