Title pretty much says it all. This product was marketed to us as a CI ONLY product. However, I think from my own findings and reading here that its going more to the Do-It-Yourselfer. Just sound off on wether you are a CI or End User. Ohh and what you think of the product.

end user. love the product. but i think you already new that. ; )
i knew before getting into it that programming it myself would be 1/2 the fun so long as i could figure out the programming aspect, which i found very intimidating. i was pleasantly surprised at the ease of use of Nevostudio.
i personally would prefer RF over Wifi, that would be my only major gripe. but i think you knew that too. ; )

Ed will be known as the Tiger Woods of the integration business, followed closely with the renaming of his company to "Hotties A/V". The tag line will be "We like big racks and tight holes"... |

End user. I got everything to work just as I wanted, but it took some patience. I would venture to say that is was a fun time though.
As far as Nevo, best unversal remote I have had the pleasure of using in my life. First time I have a remote that can do anything and everything I want it to. Can't even say I miss RF, as everything is in my line of sight anyways.

So Springs, What do you say?? 5 out of 8 are end-users. Half of them brag about getting their NevoSL for a cut price on Ebay... When contacted, Nevo Technical support says they turn away end-user's support requests and point them to dealers. I have heard that a dealer was "shown the door" by a distributor for selling NevoSL on Ebay. I applauded! But you might ask, 'If the Ebay buyers can get online and get wined and dined... what good does it do?'. In just a few years, instead of "Caveat Emptor" ('Let the buyer beware"), it has become, "Whatever you want, you can find on the internet" (and for less than the retailer who is trying to pay off his house and feed his kids). I admit, I like getting my favorite geek toy for less too - don't you?
So, I guess we keep turning in the Ebay Nevo sellers. And we can give the end-users enough advice to get them started, and then charge them for the "tough" answers... "Caveat Emptor" :)

What do I say???
Well the unit seems to me to be exactly what I thought it would be.
Great for the DIY'er. Something that should be sold right next to the Media Center PCs. I think that it was really designed for these people. Marekting it to CI's was just a distrobution mistake.
That is what I think.

We agree completely. We've been selling it online since we picked it up.
They're flirting with price fixing if you ask me. We've had 100% satisfaction from the people who've purchased the Nevo. It's not exactly an impulse buy and anyone willing to drop the dough on a remote like this had done a fair amount of research into what it will require to setup.

Stealth X. If you read my inital impressions of the unit... [Link: remotecentral.com]You can see that I saw this as a perfect unit for people who like to play with there configurations. The need to have Windows running and there software or Media Center Edition... well it seemed not so hot to market it to the custom installer. They have since added some interface with things that we actually use like Escients... But just read my inital thread.

so i guess because he who has MCE would have windows, making it compatible with the programming, and a need to control there MCE content? that would make sense then.
you being an odbviously very experienced installer i thought maybe owning an HTPC you would label me as "the type" that would want to program his own remote. LOL
kind of like being born in july means i'm very SENSITIVE! j/k LOL ; )

End of June myself.
I pointed out a bunch of things in the inital post about how most dealers are not comfortable with becoming the SYS admin for hometheater customers.
I am always curious about what is gonna actually work well.
With the all the stuff I wrote in my first impressions of the unit I sat there and wondered. Why would a custom instal distro sign an exclusive with a maunfacture who has built something with no interest in selling it to CI? But then again I remember when I think it over hard enough $$$! :)
Well at least the thought that is might actually make money.
