I have a nevo sl, but the biggest issue i have with it is battery life. Can anyone tell me if the nevo s70 is actually better on battery life? How long does it last with battery life and wifi at always on?

I get about 3 and half to 4 hours with my SL i would like 5-6 ideally.

They said nevo s70 is better with battery life but i would like to know from end users.

Also with nevo s70 software, is the nevo media player and server different then nevo sl media server and media player? I cannot find any information on it on the dealer website. I have no idea what music formats it supports.

I would really like it to recognize apple loseless music, but i kind of doubt i will. Can anyone point out where I can find some info on the dealer section of my nevo about the media player and server for nevo s70?

Hi,

Batter life is variable between users. If you are getting 3-4 hours with the SL then that is good, particularly with wifi on always on.

The S70 will be better but by how much I could not tell you. I have wifi turning off when not in use as the S70 connects much faster than the SL. The only issue with this would be if you are using a Nevo Link, then you NEED it on all the time.

As for the music server:
This software has been discontinued. The S70 have exceptional control using UPnP.

Simply run a UPnP server and Player and the Nevo will control it. I’m sure there are UPnP/DLNA servers that support apple lossless.

Thanks, will the nevo then be able to control something like tversity i have running on my pc? Its like twonky ect...

It streams music from my pc to any device on my network.

It does not have a box though like squeeze box, or apple tv.

I just want to control it on my pc.

If you could let me know it would be much appreciated.

In theory yes. But try it first.
If you can find a copy of NSP3 you can try it all in the emulator. Im sure if you go visit a store that sells Nevo they could show you a demo of it running. Stay clear of EBay.

Your PC would need to have BOTH the server and player running.

I have twonky but I only use it for music but there is no reason why video and images would not work.
