First let me state - I am not a computer "Guru" but I am not a dummy either.

I have been using Nevo Studio for a short period of time and some how the Gallery display is empty. I have used the "browse" button on the right side of the Gallery Area and navigated to Nevo/NevoStudio/Gallery and all of the folders below and have been unable the get the backgrounds, buttons and etc to display.

If I go to c:/programs/nevo/nevostudio/gallery all of the above are there -

I am sure I am doing somethng STUPID - can some one PLEASE tell me what it is!

Thanks
Ted

i was doing the very same thing... as it turned out i had moved somehting into the backgrounds folder that wasnt recognized by nevostudio, so it wouldnt let me see the folder at all from within NS, i cant remember what file type the culprit was. i was stuck for awhile with that one!

good luck. -Christian

Browse to c:\Program Files\Nevo\NevoStudio\Gallery\Backgrounds in the background gallery.

Thanks for the reply - but "been there , done that".

It still does not display ANYTHING within the Nevo Studio Program.

I can browse to that point via My Computer and everything is there - but not within Nevo Studio. This did happen when I copied some buttons to the gallery and Christian indicated he had a similar problem until he removed them. I have done that and still does not work.

I am going to try and delete and re-install the software and see if that will solve the problem.

Wish me luck!

Thanks
Ted

still stuck here??? man thats frustrating!! i'll try and recreate the problem when i get home tonite as i do recall it was a real screw around but i cant remember the exact steps i took.

i THINK my final problem was having another folder in with my backgrounds. i had made a new background folder for my own pics and put it in the STANDRARD folder that the backgrounds for nevo are kept in. so even though my backgrounds in my new folder were acceptable it wouldnt allow me to see the STANDARD folder, the only thing in the folders should be the same file types. all backgrounds, all buttons etc. so i just moved my new backgrounds folder to the nevo backgrounds folder where it was now beside the STANDARD nevo folder instead of within it.

did that makes any sense? anyway, i'll check it out tonite and let you know!

Just by chance, go to the View menu in Nevo Studio and make sure all of the items are checked. This can happen sometimes when you close the entire Gallery.

Hope this helps!

Okay - I may know what's wrong, I just am not sure how to fix it.

I copied a folder with the DirecTV logos into the Gallery to use as buttons. Once in the Gallery I right clicked on one of the buttons to open it with Paint Shop Pro so I could resize. NOW all of the buttons now are recongized as Paint Shop Pro images not as PNG.

So since Nevo Studio is working fine on my laptop I copied the entire Gallery from my laptop (PNG Files) to an external HD - then deleted the Gallery folder from my desktop - then copied the Gallery from the external HD to my desktop.

With great anticipation - I just knew this would fix the problem - but NO it did not. I went back into the Gallery folder and they were still listed as Paint Shop Pro.

As stated in my original post - I am not a computer "bytehead" so I do not know where to go to correct this problem,

HELP!!

i was just messing around and almost got myself stuck again! lol the process you need to take is to follow the path described above and make sure your background folder is empty, then add the copied STANDARD file to the backgroud folder, then from within nevostudio click on backgrounds... if you havent tried that already.

maybe make sure all the corrupted files are removed from nevostudio comletely and close it. then add the new copied file to the backgrounds folder before opening nevostudio again.....?

good luck!

Okay -

I think I am going to give up and go back to my MX-3000.

There are a lot of features I just love about the Nevo SL - but I can not get a grip on how to use the Gallery. It is very frustrating to "think" you understand how to navigate around in different files and folders - but never get any consistancy in the results.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions before I put the Nevo and a brand new in the box Wifi link on Ebay? (Please be nice with your suggestions as "shooting it or getting a hammer" is not what I had in mind.

Thanks
Ted

gotta tell you man i am FAR from being PC friendly and i managed to get through it quite easily. at the same time i didnt experience the same issue you are having so i can appreciate your frustration. have you tried just starting from scratch, remove NS and re-install it all together?

I would make the same suggestion that Stealth made. You might have the folders so messed up by now, that nothing will work again.

I have to ask a silly question first. You are using the pulldown that displays the various folders within the gallery?

One more thought: You are on the latest firmware and NevoStudio versions? If not, that might be your problem. In the first version, you had to have two versions of every button, or it would not display in the Gallery. Such as button_0.xxx and Button_1.xxx

They did away with this requirement in the latest software versions.

Let me start out this post by saying I had a relaxing evening and got a great nights sleep last night because Dave of REMOTE QUEST finally got through my thick head what I was doing wrong.

We spent some time walking through what had happened and with the patience of Jobe we determined what had happened and the software is woring PERFECTLY now.

I can not express how much I appreciate the time Dave spent with me. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone with a need for remote control hardware or remote programming - DAVE is the MAN. He is the definition of customer support.

Thanks to Christian for your posts as well.

I will second Ted's thoughts! Dave displayed infinite patience in trying to diagnose problems I was having too. Rarely have I dealt with a retailer who was so determined to see a satisfied customer!
