Well I am a prospective buyer of a Nevo SL and I have been wonering if it will be able to control my Dish NEtwork 501/508 DVRs ? I have read that the SL uses IR but I know that my DN remote uses both UHF and IR.

I guess my DN remote uses UHF to control the DVR and IR to control any other components that I may have (amplifiers, VCRs, DVDs, etc). The strange thing is however is that I have a Sony touchscreen remote and I was able to program it to control my DN DVR without any problems and as far as I know my Sony Touchscreen doesn't produce any UHF signals.

Does anyone have any experience with a NEvo SL and Dish Network DVRs ? If so I would really like to hear your results. Also, your general impressions of the NEvo SL and whether you think it is really that great of a remote as everyone claims it to be.

Thanks !

Nevo comes with IR codes to control Dish Receivers.

Don't like Nevo, but that is neither here nor there.

Somewhere on this forum this has come up before. I do not have Dish but APPARENTLY there is an IR attachment offered by dish network that will allow for IR input (as I recall it plugs into the USB port). With this device, Nevo will control it fine but then again your Sony Touchscreen will control it too.

I like the Nevo, but that is neither here nor there :)

Well thanks for the replies fellas ! I am glad to hear that the Nevo will control my DVRs. I am sorry to hear you do not like the Nevo Springs...and I am glad to hear that kelly and StealthX like it !

I have read many replies in these forums from you Stealth and can see that you are a very happy Nevo SL customer. I hope I end up just as happy as you are. I was just a succesful budder on one from eBay so I should have mine in a few days to begin playing around with.
