I am having issues with my S70 charging properly. When off the cradle my remote will only hold a charge for 1 -2 hours at the most before a low battery or critical battery message pops up. When placing on the cradle, the light only seems to stay on for a few seconds. I assume that when the light is off on the cradle it is not charging. It appears that the remote is contacting the points correctly on the cradle, but why is it not charging completely? This has been as issue for quite some time and is very frustrating. Any ideas?

I am an owner not an installer...thanks for your input!

When you dock the remote, look at the top right of the touch screen. Does the battery symbol animate? I find that as the best way to know if the remote is charging.

You are right that the light goes out after a few seconds; its normal.

Is your S70 using WiFi? If so, maybe it is set to always have WiFi turned on (and thus the remote always on as well) and that means that your remote is always on the network and that will definitely drain your battery fast.

Thanks for the response. I will have to check to see if the battery symbol is animated. I do have wifi turned on, I suppose I can turn it off if that will resolve the issue. Is it considered normal for the battery to die after an hour or so when wifi is turned on? I saw some other posts where others were getting 2 days or so of battery life without being placed on the cradle.

If WiFi is on all the time, then yeah, the battery will definitely die in about 2-3 hours. I think one hour is a little bit on the low side though, so maybe there is another issue going on there.

What are you using WiFi for? If you don't really need it, then I'd highly suggest to set the S70 to have the WiFi timeout quickly. Then you will have some pretty good battery life.

Also remember that the backlight of the touch screen is the other thing that can burn battery life. I always set Nevo controllers to have the backlight timeout after 15 minutes (unless they request for a longer timeout, which happens sometimes).

in the 3.0 software, you can tell the nevo when it should be connected to the wifi.  So if you are just watching Tv and not using any network functions, the remote will shut the wifi off, thus saving the battery during normal usage.

Thanks for the tips! I will do as suggested, hopefully that will resolve the issue.
