I have a Yamaha RX-V2400, a Sony DVP-CX777ES (500 DVD changer) and a similar CD changer (500 Discs Sony) - When I go to the online nevo library each component shows up with about 5-6 commands, where in reality there should be 100's listed. Am I doing something wrong here? Im trying to avoid "learning" all the codes I need.

Thanks

There's usually an "advanced codes" list available if you go into the "edit device" window. You just select the ones you want to add to the visible list.

What do mean by advanced "mode?" Maybe we're not talking about the same thing.

Sorry,

I don't have the unit in front of me ... but from memory: when your in the software, programing the codes - there is a button somewhere that said advanced codes or mode or something like that - and it brought up another window that had a bunch of other codes that you can click through. I forget exactly what it was called (I will get details later and re-post). That area there, was not much different than the original codes. I have seen this so far on about 3 different devices and Im wondering if I am doing something wrong here ...

I see what you mean about the 777es changer.  the first code set (Y0878) only has 4 i/r commands.  but if you look at the 2nd code set (Y1033)  there are many more codes.  sometimes you need to use more than one code set to get all the codes for the device.

the nevo database is pretty crappy compared to other brands IMO.

If you find any sets that go togeather and make a complete working set please post the info.
I can inform Nevo and see if an amendment can be made.

Perhaps you can get them to update the codes for the Yamaha receivers? Particularly the RX-V3800 on up. Yes, I could learn the codes myself for the remote but it would be nice if it was updated in the online database because they don't seem to update it that often at all.

Sure can.
Can you point me to the codes?

So far my experience with Yamaha has not been good.
