I'm trying to record the following macro: tv mode in the receiver (soft button) + tv menu (soft button) + down (hard) + left (hard) + up (hard) + ok (hard) + up (hard) + left (hard) + up (hard) + ok (hard) + tv menu (soft). I've tried to record the above mentioned macro but it does not work. Should I add some delays or what do I do wrong? Can I record a macro also in Neoedit?

What I am trying to do is to have only one button that changes the tv mode in the receiver and changes the tv menu so, that tv's own speakers are not working. Should that be possible at all? The receiver and Tv are both Sonys.

I hope someone did understand what I am trying to say or do, I don't no how to explain it clearly with my terrible English. Sorry about that!

Thanks!

This is out of the Readme file of the lastest NEoEdit Software

PR 163: Macro's recorded on the device are not uploaded. A workaround is to edit
macro's in NEOedit and then download. These macro's will be correctly
uploaded.

Not sure if that is your problem or not, but all the macros I've ever made I used the Software, as I did nothing really on the remote itself. So I would try that.

If all the IR codes work that are in your macro, you should have a problem.

How should I record macros in Neoedit? There is no macro function there (at least I have not found) so should I do it with "add link" function or what?

The original problem is that the macro I created is not working the way it should. I have about 10 functions in the macro so should I add some delays between them, in other words does the tv set understand so many IR codes coming in such a short time without any delays? The problem what I am trying to solve with this macro is the following: My tv's (Sony KV-32LS35, maybe the model number is different in the US) software does have a bug so the setting to not have the tv's own speakers functioning is not saved. Because of that I have to change the Tv's menu settings every time I turn on tv. And now I'm trying to create a macro that does this with one pressing but it's not working. When I press the button I just recorded it does something different everytime in the tv so tv doesn's get all time IR codes at the same time. Can anyone help or has someone solved the same problem otherwise?

Yes. Use "link" and "jump" to create macros. Ex: Watch DVD - "link" dvd power, tv power, tv video input 1, jump DVD

Wow, My Sony has that setting and I would hate for it to not work. You might need delays, you'd have to try it and see.

If it was me, I'd take the back off the TV and disconnect the speaker wires :)

I can avoid the problem by using a scart wire (not used in the US) with RCA-wires and setting the tv volume to be null but then the signal is not that high (I hope you understand what I'm saying). In other words now I have to turn more volume from my receiver. It would be great to get this macro working. In fact it does work but not always. Sometimes it does something else that it should, it can "forget" one order e.g. and that's it. I have 0,7 secs delays between each of the functions, that should be enough.
