Why when you make a new button does it automatically insert a 0.1 sec delay? I read that some were having problem with macros after a filmware update. Are there any special steps that need to be taken?

bump. Mostly I'm concerned about whether or not I have to put a .1 sec delay in between everything. This had been mentioned somewhere in a thread I know Steve has responded to but he never said whether or not the new filmware required him to do that.

if a macro needs a delay or not (and how long it needs to be) depends on the equipment that will be controlled.

A delay is only needed if you need it. Why the software puts one in on its own I'm not sure. Something the the programers for Philips thought was a nice thing :)

I have many macros for my Sony DVD changer, only the 5 button needed a delay. The RCA UTV needs no delays for anything, same for the RCA TV.

So in short, it all depends on the device your programing the macro for.
