I've had my Neo for about a week now and have come to some conclusions about it's ergonomic design that I would like to share just in case someone at Philips is reading this forum.

I find that the shape of the remote is lovely to look at, but could be more of a delight to hold and operate. Due to the matte finish of the remote and the tapered form of the body I find it difficult to handle it with one hand without it trying to slip out like a wet bar of soap, especially when trying to access both the hard buttons and the touch screen. Placed on a table the remote is somewhat wedged shaped, but in the wrong direction. The screen should be angled up, not down. When laying on the couch with the remote on the coffee table to my right, I'm forced to pick the remote up to see what buttons to push on the touch screen. Even though the screen can be viewed from a prone position by propping the front of the remote up on a book, you can't actually see the graphics on the screen until the remote is at least at a 45 degree angle, on a regular hard button remote you can feel the buttons so after awhile you can activate the correct ones without having to actually see them. The touch screen requires more effort to activate than the Sony touch screen models I've played with and the hard buttons require more pressure than any remote I've ever owned. I find the 4 hard buttons right under the touch screen are hard to tell apart by feel since they all have the same bump on their top surface, and the side mounted buttons are a real pain to operate when one is trying to perform a one handed operation that requires that the side buttons, the hard buttons and the touch screen all be utilized. Lastly, the case itself should have rounded edges for an improved feel.

In a perfect world the Neo enclosure would be redesigned such that the whole remote would be angled up slightly in the front, ideally it would have a screen that could be tilted up independently of the remote body, so that whatever your body position is you can view and access the touch screen without having to pick the remote up. I would include rubber strips like a tooth brush along the rounded body of the remote for improved hand traction when you do want to operate it with one hand. The screen and hard buttons would require a lighter touch and the side buttons would be moved to the top somewhere. I would also like to see the hard buttons more rubbery and fully lit like other back lit remotes.
