Need help deciding between the Sony RM-AV3000 or the Pronto Neo TSU500. Both are similar in price, depending on where you buy it. I have searched reviews on both, and each seem to get rave reviews. I want to control Onkyo Surround receiver and DVD changer, Mitsubishi TV, RCA Satellite, and VCR. Is the Pronto Neo able to control all functions of my surround system? From what I understand, it is pretty flexible by hooking it up to my PC and using software supplied. Thanks in advance for suggestions.

I work at best buy part time. I just bought the pronto neo myself. My Sony RM-AV2100 got elbow dropped by my 20 month old. :( I really liked the 3000's new layout (Everything that sucked on the 2100 they changed). However the screen is still a burned in screen which you cannot change the layout or text to. The pronto on the other hand I can completely modify all text and layout's to fit your liking. So such things as my Audiotron I can finally have the properly worded buttons doing the job.

Just my opinion, I have played with both of them for a few months now and today I decided, hope it helps.

jm, was that the "peoples elbow" that was dropped on that remote? hehehe! I have to agree with jm. The Neo is very flexible. You can name buttons import bmp's such as channel logos and much more. However, the editing software has some bugs that need to be ironed out and the remote has a difficult time learnig. I spent hours (after spending weeks creating my setup) trying to get buttons to learn from some of my other remotes. Not fun!! Thank neohacker!-) It saved me time by taking codes from the Pronto files section and converting them into neo format. I now have descrete buttons that never came with my remote. If these are things that arn't bothersome to you, then go with the Sony. I hear it learns with ease. Personally I like the correct name for that button.
