I just purchased a ProntoNeo. So far, it has been able to learn only about half the functions from my many remotes. On my Philips DVD remote, for example, there is a button called ZOOM. I could not get the Pronto to learn this function, and so I called the Philips Pronto tech support number. They flat out told me that the Neo would not be able to learn this function. The Sony remote that came with my receiver learns this function no problema. Also, the Neo will not recognize one single command from the remote from my Sharp MG20X projector. I've had to use discreets for I/O and a couple of functions have been borrowed from CCF files. But I guess I just don't understand how this fancy remote fails to learn IR signals that the cheap Sony remote that came with receiver can.

Why did I buy the Neo? I'm starting to think only because it looks so cool.

Can anyone take a minute to explain to me why I'm encountering these problems? What I can do?

Of course I've got the latest firmware, and etc.

Thanks in advance,
Evan

The neo isn't that great for learning. I had the try different angles and distances for some of my buttons. However, get used to using neohacker because the Pronto has a huge database which the codes can be converted into a neo code through neohacker. You will find this remote very frustrating at times but can be rewarding when all is finished.
