Also, I've looked into Tonto (the Mac OS X Pronto
editor), but they don't seem to have a way to
edit the Neo, since it uses some format they haven't
figured out yet (even though this thing has been
out for a year).
So what the hell?
A couple of points:
1) the Pronto CCF format and the Neo NCF format are not the same. there are several fundamental differences.
2) they == me. Tonto is a one-man show. spare time and all.
3) the Keyspan USA-19QW goes up to at least 230Kbps. plenty fast.
Tonto might support NCF at some point. I've been looking at it recently. But it's really pointless to be able to edit the NCF in Tonto if I can't then send the new file to the remote. The real barrier for Tonto supporting the Neo is that the serial communications protocol has *no relation* to the one used for other Prontos. I took a stab at reverse-engineering it, but it's much more difficult than the Prontos. It might even be based on some proprietary object serialization in which case there's no point in trying.
