Can anybody comment on the durability of the Neo versus the 2000/1000?

I've already lost a 1000 in a drop/L1 replacement debacle. If the Neo was a little more immune to damage, I might go for one.

I'm thinking either:
- used or refurb 1000 (125)
- Neo (160ish)
- new 2000 (200)

If I could do it all over I would have bought a Pronto 2000. I like my neo but the Pronto has a larger screen and the edit software is much better. Thats my 1 cent.

I have had my Neo drop at least 6 feet onto carpet, with the remote only reseting itself.
Not sure how it would hold up differently then any other, as it all depends on how and what it lands on

I agree with John, I liked my Neo, but I returned it for a P2K for the same reasons. I have dropped my P2K 3 feet onto carpet with only the unit reseting itself. Probably just jogged the battery loose for an instant. I can't believe either unit could take much of a drop onto a hardwood floor, though. butch

How about a drop from the back of the couch onto ceramic tile. My 2 year old has tested tough the Neo, and nothing but a reset. The Neo keeps ticking

Rule #1: Do not ever set the Neo / P2K anywhere where it can drop onto a ceramic floor. lol. You are one lucky camper. Butch
