Can .ncf files created and saved on one version of NeoEdit be used on earlier versions. Also, I recently downloaded NeoSync from this site. When I open it the software does not change anything. How does NeoSync iterface with NeoEdit? Do I need other software? Thanx

Yes, ncf files created by earlier versions of neoedit can be read by the latest version.

Neosync changes the default device page. You make a custom device page in neoedit and then use neosync to make it the default page (make it the 1st device in the tree using the yellow arrow buttons)

Thanx Mutt, NeoSynch worked like a charm. Now my custom home page comes up instead of the device overview. At least on NeoEmulator, as my Neo should be in this week. One more question: I have used NeoEdit V2.0.5 I believe downloaded from Philips web site. When my Neo arrives, will I need to upgrade the firmware? If so, how? Is this done through NeoEdit? Thanx again Butch.

Butch,

I did pretty much the same as you, I had everything preprogrammed prior to ever receiving my remote. I just received mine this past Thursday, and when I tried to download my file I received a message saying I needed a firmware update. I downloaded it from the Philips web site, and it worked great. I did have to use the setup within the remote to get three of the four devices to work after the download. Then I had a couple buttons that did not work, but after learning them everything worked great. So far I've been extremely happy, and have even created a few macros that turn on and set up the devices with one button! Have fun!

Paul... :-)

Yup, it seemed logical to try the software and the NeoEmulator to see if this remote is for me. So far I must say I am very impressed. The software is a little buggy and I get those "fatal errors" from time to time but overall it is working well enough for me to configure the remote exactly like I want. I downloaded the firmware update and that seems easy as well. Now if I could just figure out NeoHacker and that Java thing. Hmmmm. Thanx guys. Butch

Butch,

Yes, you'll probably need/want to update your firmware. Neohacker is great for importing Pronto learned codes. I just wish you didn't need java to run it.
