Is it possible to make the device overview send IR commands or link to IR commands from the devices? This seems pretty fundamental -- when you press 'CD', you should be able to send your preamp the command to select the CD in addition to switching to the CD page. Given that device overview pages are never saved I can't figure this out. Also NeoHack doesn't seem to have the capability to add a link to a control, just change an existing one. Even if it did, the next change and save you make would lose all your codes.

You can do it two ways.
1)edit the .xml file
2)Use NeoHacker

Design your own Device Page, with the needed codes.
Make it your Startup page with Neohacker or Neosynch.
Save it.
Load it in Neoedit > don't save > send to Neo
