I have downloaded NEOhacker a couple of times. I have downloaded the .jre program from Java. I installed the .jre program and extract the NEOhacker zip. Then I double click the NEOhacker icon and nothing. It pops up a dos window for about a pico second and that is it. I specified which program to open the .jar (jre.exe and also the jrew.exe). I still can not get this to work or any other download that is in Java to work for that matter. I could use some help in this. It may have to do with the fact that I live near Redmond and Java hates me...hehe...

Also where can I get a file with all of the .bmp TV station logo's that I see in alot of the users .ncf's. Please advise.

make sure that you downloaded the sun Java not the microsoft version. It's amazing that microsoft was able to screw java up so badly...The current rev is 1.4

I had the same problem, until I placed the Neohacker program in the same folder as Java. When I double clicked Neohacker, it opened normally. Hope this helps.

I too had the same problem you are describing. First make sure you get this version of the JRE [Link: java.sun.com]

Initially I got a different version thinking I had the correct one. Once I got this I just clicked on the .jar file and everything worked.

Another suggestion if you are still having the cmd prompt window problem. Open up a command prompt, go to the directory with the .jar file and type the following: java -jar NEOHacker0.7.jar
This worked for me as well.

Best of luck,
Stephen

I gave up on Sunday and then last night I came home and for some reason I had a moment of clarity. I logged on to the Java site and did as someone suggested. I thought that since MS was in such a mess with everyone they probably didn't install any competition's programs in their XP. Just a thought but I downloaded Java 1.4 and bada bing it works like a charm now. I wish I would have thought of it Sunday. Also thanks to all for the suggestions. It was my needing a copy of Java on the computer to get java to work...LOL... It is appreciated that you all took the time to help me out.
