Hi All,
I just bought a pronto neo. Now I want to convert all my remotes into this device. NEOEdit allows me to select a brand & codeset for the devices I want to use, but the commands this give me are about 1/2 of the commands available on the remote controls I want to convert.
This is my gear: TV: Philips 32PW8506 DVD: Philips DVD952 Receiver: Philips MX999
Just to see I downloaded a couple of ncf's on this site to see how you guy's are dealing with this. Then I saw "learned ir code" on a couple of buttons.
Now: 1) How do I create these? 2) How can I find out what the "code" is my original remote sends out. And how do I re-create that "code" in my prontoNEO "learned ir code"?
Please help!!!
Regards,
Johan.

Johan, first off, if you haven't already, download the updated NeoEdit and the firmware update tool found in the files area (probably should pick up the other tools too... NeoHacker, etc.
You can (hopefully) learn the codes you desire from your old or original remotes to the Neo. Afterwards, upload your newly learned Neo to your computer so you can save this file, make modifications etc. Then you'll be able to download these modifications to your Neo.

Learned IR codes are fairly easy to do. First, create all the pages and buttons you want your NEO to have in NEO Edit. Download your configuration into your NEO. Go to the page/button you wish to add a learned IR code. Now, push and hold the MODE hard button in the bottom left hand corner. Your NEO is now in learn mode. Take the component remote you wish to learn and point it an the front of the NEO. Hold the button down you wish to learn and press the corresponding button on your NEO. NEO will either say OK, or FAILED. If it fails repeat. Sooner or later, it will lock in. Now upload your new "learned IR codes into Neo edit. You have to "upload", otherwise all the codes you learned will be lost the next time you download.

Oops! Correction: after you push and hold MODE, you must select LEARN on the touchscreen.

Thanks for your quick reply! I have successfully learned a couple of buttons from the original remote into my prontoNEO. Again thanks for your help! Regards,

You'll soon see that NEO is a slow learner. I think it took the short bus to school.
I've found that a pitch black room works the best when learning IR commands.

How do I upload from ProntoNeo into my PC? Under the FILE selections there is a download only. Do I need to update my edit and firmware software. Thanks MJ1

Yes, upgrade both. This should get you on your way.
