I have a Matrix descrambler and I have been trying to learn the codes to the NEO for about 30 mins and have so far gotten 2 buttons learned!!!! If I hold the remotes close, 1-4 inches, and push the button to learn to, once I push the button on the cable box, the NEO immediately says failed!!!!! Almost instantaneously!!!!!
I don't get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone have ideas????????????????????????????

Thanks, J

I had a jvc vcr do the same thing, learn in subdued light and keep playing with the distance/angle between the remotes, some buttons on my remote learned at an off angle and tilted don't know why but it worked. OR your Neo may just not like your desc. lastly see if anyone has one in the pronto section and dload and convert the codes.

I've had the same frustration with an Apex DVD. Don't know if this will help, but I did finally managed to get ONE key I had great difficulty with by taking the remotes into a dark room, then holding the Apex remotes' key down continuously while hitting the learn button on the Neo and changing the angles as I did it. It finally took it after about 10 mins of playing. For ONE key, it's ridiculous. It may have been a fluke of luck, who knows. But I have to say, I'm close to packing it in with this thing. It's a real cool remote, just wish it wasn't so time consuming to learn codes.
Good Luck!

Something that "demiller9" posted was very handy in learning the RCA Ultimate TV Codes:

"...It was not accepting any of the codes at first, but I was successful after trying the following trick: hold your remote button down before pressing the neo key..."

It may work in this situation also.
