Greetings...

Let me preface this note by saying I've searched and tried all the suggestions I've seen in this forum. I still get: Invalid CF version or corrupt flash.

Here's what happens:

1. I downloaded, today, the latest firmware update and Neoedit update. I updated the firmware, and opened Neoedit.
2. I successfully uploaded the configuration in my ProntoNeo, created with the firmware update.
3. I did some customization, saved it as a different configuration file...yes, proper model...and clicked download. I got the god awful message on my ProntoNeo.
4. I reinstalled the firmware upgrade, which brought back the Neo.
5. I uploaded the Neo's configuration again.
6. I tried to download the configuration I just uploaded from the Neo. I received the same message.
7. I have disabled my Virus protection software. Rinse. Repeat. Same result. Yes, I've tried resetting the Neo. No luck. I've tried rebooting my computer. I've tried changing batteries. The capital of New Jersey is Trenton.
8. After receiving the rude CF message on the Neo itself, Neoedit adds to the frustration by returning a message of: "Error 0070: Segger-module: Initiation failed!" (Notice the excited tone in the error message.)

Note: Yesterday, I was able to download successfully, prior to updating the firmware and Neoedit.

I'm a mite disappointed. I am on Windows XP. No conflicting serial ports.

Other than that, it's been a lovely day.

Anyone? Anyone?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Thanks...

I assume you are using NeoEdit 2.0.5? You didn't state what version the software is, and the lastest firmware will not work unless the software is v2.05

I have seen a file before that had the "seggar" in its name, but was in the eariler versions of NeoEdit. I know that the RC3200 software still has a file that is named "Segger_RC3200.dll", but the new NeoEdit does not and I think the files have changed names to "CFTranslate_RU930.dll" and "CFTranslate_TSU500.dll"

All I can think of is that maybe one of these files is corrupted. I assume you uninstalled the old version, as one now has to in order to do the install. I can email you the dll and see if that helps.

Have you tried just to start with a black ncf file and add a few device's and download it to the remote? I'm not sure why you'd go ahead and "Upload" the default config that the firmware makes, as there really is no point in it. The same .ncf file is installed with the software as well. Thus I was just wondering if a new ncf or one of the defaults that are installed with the software work. Also try and change the com ports maybe, if you have the other free.

I confirmed I have the .dll you were referring to...the one *not* named "seggar*". I can't change com ports...the other is in use.

I uploaded the default from the Neo to see if that was working. The upload does work.

Yes, I have tried starting with a blank, adding a couple of devices and downloading. I've also tried downloading the default file provided with the software.

And yes...I did uninstall the original version of NeoEdit that came with the device.

So, I'm pretty flummoxed at this moment, you know.

I really appreciate your making the assist, here. If you have any more thoughts...I certainly like the extra pair of "eyes".

Thanks again...

I had some simular problems when I tried to download a ncf file with the Neoemulator running. However, if I shut down the emulator prior to downloand, I had no further problems. Something to try if you are running the emulator when trying to download.

Thanks for the suggestion about the emulator, but I don't really run it. I haven't gotten far enough to recognize its value. :) So, unfortunately, the emulator doesn't seem to be the problem.

Thanks again,

I received the same message last week. I tried downloading some of the color pictures from the ProntoPro to the Neo, and got the same message.
The fix for me was of course to reflash the Neo with the new firmware. I then uploaded from the Neo, fixed the uploaded file how I wanted it, and then downloaded that file back to the Neo. Perhaps you've got something in one of those ncf's that isn't kosher with the Neo

Well, I guess we can call off the dogs. It would appear my original computer may be the culprit. Or perhaps something in the earlier NeoEdit software wasn't removed when I uninstalled prior to upgrading to 2.0.5.

I brought my laptop home from work, installed NeoEdit 2.0.5. and the firmware updater. Using the laptop, and 2.0.5. as the "virgin" version of the software, I had no problems at all.

My original computer is a Sony Vaio PCV-RX370DS, running Windows XP. My laptop is an HP running Win 98.

Anyway, long story not so long, all is working well on the HP. And I'm enjoying the experience at last.

Thanks all of you, for you efforts.

Best,

Try and manual delete all the Philips software and delete the info out of the system Reg file. Also make sure the temp dir(S) are all empty and try reinstalling just the software on the system giving you the trouble. Might work...

I have also been getting this message when attempting to use Windows Me. Windows 98 SE does not seem to cause this problem. I think it is OS dependant and am talking with the Tech Support guys for Philips about it.
