Hello fellow A/V freaks! I'm trying to get my prontoNeo up and running to keep my wife happy and my life simpler. I'm almost all set to start macros. The last remote I need to program in is my firefly remote, for those that don't know it's for my home built DVR computer. I can't get the pronto to learn a single button. Am I doing something wrong? Don't tell me the Neo can't learn this. I was under the understanding this remote could learn any IR signal. HELP!!!!!!

Is it a Firefly or a Firefly MINI? The Firefly is an RF only remote. The Mini is an IR based remote.

Hi,
I recently purchased a Pronto Neo second hand, and experienced the same problem with a Philips brand DVR. None of the supplied codes worked, but the remote learned all of the critical functions with no problem, except for the DVR. With the DVR, a few of the buttons would program, but not others. But, after several tries, most were eventually accepted. I'm not sure why this happened, and only with this one unit, but most of the buttons worked after 5 to 10 repeated tries. One button took at least 30 repititions to work. I know it sounds aggrivating, but try doing the same button 10 or 15 times. If you can get one button to learn, you can probably get all of them to learn.
