Here's a picture of what is breaking when the touchscreen no longer responds, but the hard buttons all still work.



This is the second Neo that broke like this for me. You can see two of the traces are completely severed and the third is about half way gone.

This time I decided to try repair. I used a circuit trace pen to bridge the cracks. Let dry overnight and re-assembled. It's been working now for over a month. One caution, some of the case screws are UNDER the sticker on the back of the remote. Be sure you remove the sticker and those screws before trying to pry the case apart. You can easily fix this in 10 mins or less. It's difficult to write directly on the ribbon with the pen, so get some paper and glob some of the pen material on it and apply with a toothpick.

Circuit trace pens can be bought at electronic or computer stores. They are often used to make repairs or alter circuits on PCB's.
