Any one know where I can find the code for the video2 input on a JVC RX-817VTN Rec? I have tried every file in the file area for JVC Rec. and have had no luck. I have even tried all the JVC files in the Pronto file area and can't get it to work. I don't know if there is a work around for this because the original remote has a direct input button. Any help or direction would help me out greatly. Narvarr

Another solution is to purchase a oneforall or radio shack universal remote. These remotes can be programmed with advanced codes that usually include all of the discrete commands. The remotes are <$20 and worthwhile. I've had one for years.
Your other option is to just a use a macro as a workaround. Assuming you have some of the discrete codes for other inputs as well as a button that scrolls through all of the inputs....if so you just create a macro that sets the input to a known selection (like video 1) and then includes one press of the "scroll input" button to make it change to video 2 (assuming that is the order it scrolls in).

I was wondering if there is a workaround for this but there is no scroll function on the remote for inputs. The Rec itself uses a knob to scroll through the inputs but not the remote. Maybe I will go through the files area again to see if anyone has a JVC Rec remote that has an input scroll function that will work on my unit. If that does not work, I guess I will pick up a oneforall and give that a try.

I looked at the site with all of the advanced codes for your receiver brand and I didn't see Video2 as an option. [Link: hifi-remote.com]I wonder if video2 doesn't share an input with another function or something odd.

Have you tried clicking on Features at the top of this page then going to Infrared Database then clicking JVC and try the Codes that are listed for other JVC RX series products. I have found that Copying to NOTEPAD then Copy from there to RC3200 works fine. Try this code it is listed as VCR2 for a JVC Rec.

Hope this helps.

I believe the JVC has a seperate input called Video2 which is not the same as VCR2. It can't hurt to try though. As for cutting and pasting codes, that will not work with Neo Edit for the Neo TSU-500. You can only paste codes into the TSU-500 through Neo Hacker.
