Has anyone programmed a Neo to control a lutron spacer dimmer switch? Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

I can't get it to work either. I have emailed Philips but no response yet. If enough folks email Philips, they might get a fix going.

I was able to get neo to learn, but it doesn't work in practice. I had to hold the space button first, then hit the learn button on the neo.

I've been asking around for a month now and no one responds

I'm having the same problem. I called Lutron, they say that the Spacer is operating at a frequency of 41.7 Khz. Meanwhile I called Philips customer service and notified them of the Neo problem. They told me that specs for the Neo are 56Khz to 150Khz. When I ask why it works with the TSU1000, he said that it has an operating freq. up to 56Khz. Suggest that other people also call and complain, their number is (888-486-6272).

I'm having the same issues with the RC3200. :(

What doesn't make sense is that the RC5200 learns the IR codes without a hitch.

Any new info?

Here's the email response I got from philips;

Dear Sir / Madam,

Thank you for your enquiry.
Please contact our US hotline

Questions about the ProntoNEO: 888-486-6272
They have to help you with the hardware and software.

Please download NEO Edit 1.3 from the following website:

[Link: pronto.philips.com]
Download the upgrade as well: Download NEO Upgrade (1.2 MB)

Kind regards,
Harry Schut

The only problem is that when I call that number the support people absolutely do not know anything. They are just reading sales pamplets. When I pressured them they referenced me to this forum and the Yahoo forum. I think I may email the 1st address again and tell them them that US phone support could not help me.

I have looked into the Pronto Lutron codes to try to convert it to the Neo. the problem is the Pronto codes for Lutron have burst sequences that are longer in duration than 255 and is described by 3 hex characters in the Pronto code. The Neo system only allows 2 hex characters and no one has been able to figure out yet the command structure to get the Neo to send codes greater in duration than 255.

Patspector,

Is this something that can be fixed by Philips via software or firmware changes?

I think it can be fixed it Philips wants to do it.

I suspect that the Neo can send a burst sequence code that is longer than 255 characters because many of the common codes have lead in or lead out durations that are greater than 255. The Neo does that through an instuction and then a 2 hex character code which when multiplied by the lowest duration gives the >255 duration.

I have not been able to figure out how to get the Neo to send non lead in/out sequences that are greater than >255.

Thanks Pat!!

In the mean time I sent another email to customer service to ask if there is any software/firmware upgrade in the works to rectify our problem.

Customer service responded to my email promptly. They suggested I try switching the Neo to RC6 protocol. However, I don't know how to do that. I had to email then again for directions. I will update this when I hear from them.

Check the Marantz web site. They just released new software that will let you to use RC9200, 5200, 5000, 5000i ccf files in the RC3200. Letting you to control Lutron and several other products.

Hope this helps,

Andy

Andy,

Concerning the Lutron, Pat Spector has since cracked both X10 and Lutron codes with his converter.

Back to your post, are you saying there is a ccf to ncf converter for the RC3200??

You are correct. I haven't tried it yet, but what my conection at Marantz tells me is that it will let you copy/paste from RC5200 to RC3200.

This is a portion of the email he sent me.

...ADD IR allows cutting and pasting of strings directly into button.

What this means to you: you can now paste Old Pronto format/RC5000 strings of code into RC3200 buttons! This means that if you have an RC5000 style CCF for Lutron, or Fujitsu plasmas, or Panasonic anything, you can paste that string of code from the CCF button into the NCF button's EDIT IR feature...

Hope this helps,
Andy

Are RC3200 codes the same as the Neo's codes?
