My first thread. =)
I have finally bought my self a used RU-390 for my htpc system.
Now I'm just wondering if I really should upgrade the firmware in it. To the new 1.5.3
I have read a couple of threads where people are telling stories about remotes going dead after such an upgrade. I don't know if that's happen to a lot of people (when it goes well, you don't write about it.)
Does anyone have an opinion on this?
Anyone where it actually worked?
If I should upgrade.. then should I download the file from Philps homepage or from the file section here? Read that the file here is one revison newer. Is it safe to use then?

Thanks!

The only problem I had w/ the new version on this website was that my PC said it was updating the remote w/ the new version, but when I checked the version number on the remote later, it still said it was the old version.

I de-installed the firmware on my PC, restarted, reinstalled the firmware software from this website, and everything's fine. I have the TSU500.
