I want to make it so when I press the device hard key it jumps to a device configuration screen I created as a device. From what I've read and seen this is possible I just don't know how. I have installed the neo hacker and it opens just fine, although I've read references to java run time enviornment that I've never had to mess with to open neo hacker(what is JRE any way) any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You don't need NeoHacker for that.

- Open a device
- Double-click on 'Hard buttons for device'.
- Select the "Hard buttons"-tab and click on a hard button.
- In the list of actions for that button add a "Jump" to the requested page.

JRE means Java Runtime Environment and without it you cannot run NeoHacker. If NeoHacker runs fine it means that a JRE has been installed on your PC.

in the hard key configuration screen the button all the way to the right is not available to change. when the remote is in normal mode the device hard button jumps to the neo created device screen. I would like to make it jump to a screen of my choice.

Aha, I understand now. I didn't know which hard key you were trying to program.

With the default edit software you can only customize the two middle keys. The key on the right normally jumps to the default home page. If you want this key to jump to a custom device page you'll have to use NeoHacker.

Open your ncf file with NeoHacker, click on the device page of your choice and press Ctrl+D. Save the file, open it with NeoEdit and download the config to your remote.

Note that after you've done this you cannot upload the config back to the PC and continue editing it. First you would have to download the un-hacked version to the remote, change something, download it back to the PC, use NeoHacker to set a custom device page and download it to the remote again. This is a bit cumbersome so changing the default home page is normally the last thing you do after you've finished modifying your config. And always keep a copy of the un-hacked version of your ncf (e.g. do not store the config over the existing un-hacked version after you've used NeoHacker to change the default home page).
