As far as I know, they don't exist. I tried for hours with 2 different toshiba dvd players, one being the HDA1 to no avail. Things are not made any easier if you want to use a play-stop-power for OFF since these units take FOREVER to "boot" up from play. If anyone can shed some light on this I'd like to know as well, since the HDA1 is currently left on all the time until I find a better solution.

Why ,oh why can't these dick head manufacturers catch on to the simplest things like a discrete on and discrete off..........year after year they mess up on control ,when it could be so easy........

Toshiba is notorious for building TOADs. Too wish it were not so.

if you have an MX-3000 or 950 then you should set up variables and you will ba able to overcome any TOADS..

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I suppose that my quest has led me to the same goal as scoop city. Is it possible that discrete ON/OFF or otherwise effective combinations of codes have been found to control the standby state for a Toshiba RD-XS35 via programmable remote controllers? This is the only component in my home setup for which I cannot locate such codes, unfortunately. - wader
