Aloha all:

I received my new MX850 today and was programming it when it went into test mode and is not exiting test mode. All tests pass until it gets to light and the results say 'skip'. If I press any button it redoes the test. If I remove the batteries for a few minutes then replace them it does the same thing. WHat am I missing here?

Thanks,

Spud

Take out one battery and press Main until the power cycles out (about 7 presses). Put the battery back in and immediately press Main and Stop at the same time until the little guy stop running. When it stops, DO NOT press any other buttons. Download an empty program into the remote. After you download the empty program, it should be ok.

I've found that this happens if a download was interrupted before completing. I don't know if that was the case for you, but that seems to be the main reason.

Thank you,
Damon DG

"press Main and Stop"

Which is the STOP button? I tried Main and OFF but no luck.
The little guy stops running when 'LIGHT SKIP' comes on but I can not communicate with the device.

I did try to reload anyway and it went to 72% and got the error message:

"Invalid Answer - LimitedProgramLoadToRC (LPLTR-2)"

Then I retried and after a few communications errors it worked fine.

You are correct - a download was interrupted to cause this.

Thanks for your response.

I think he is referring to the button directly above the number "1" button. It has a square printed on it and is generally used to stop the play of a DVD, VCR, DVR etc.

Oops! Of course that's what he meant. How silly of me.

Thanks.

Maui,

Don't forget - load an EMPTY program into the remote. This will clear out the memory. After that, you should be ok to load your actual program.

Thank you,
Damon DG
