I have a Mitsubishi wide screen with Netcommand and I just got the MX-500 and love it so far. I am trying to set up a few macros and everything seems to be working just fine, except one thing.

The Netcommand feature on the tv, allows you to custom setup "devices" which you program and set up each component you want to use. For example, my "devices" are DT-Antenna, DVD, VCR, Sat, and all the inputs as well.

Anyways, I am trying to set up a few macros so my wife can just hit a button and have the macro set everyting up to put in a DVD, or another button, to watch a VHS, or TV etc....

I can get the macro to do everyhting, except program the "device" in the tv to the correct "device". does anyone have any suggestions or solutions? Thanks in advance.

my setup:
mitsu 55711 with OTA HD reciever
Yamaha 5 dvd player
HD hughes sat reciever
VHS
and a Denon 3803 AVR

I believe the following procedure still works with the newer Mits as it did the older ones. This will convert your Mits remote into a discrete mode that should give you the input switches you're looking for:

Set the Slide Switch at the top of the Mitsubishi Remote to TV.
Press and hold the POWER button, and while holding the power button enter 090.

Now the remote functions like this:

Power = Power On Only
Stop = Power Off Only
Pause = AV Reset

Pressing DEVICE followed by:
PIP = DTV (HD Input)
1 = Input 1
2 = Input 2
3 = Input 3
4 = Input 4
5 = DVD / Component 1
6 = Component 2
SQV = Input STB, Input 5 or DVI (depending on model)
QV = Input VGA
PIP CH Up = Antenna A
PIP CH Down = Antenna B
SQV = Front SVideo
QV = VGA
PIP/POP = OTA HD Antenna (Built-In HD Tuner)

Learn the desired commands to your MX-500.
When done, press and hold POWER button and enter code 000 (935 with NetCommand models) on your Mits remote to return to its normal functioning mode.

For older model Mits, use the "Input" key instead of "Device".

Yes this works great. I just did this procedure with my new Mits 55909. I might add two things. First, be sure and push the "Device" button before each entry. However, don't worry about using a "Device" button on the MX-500. Once you push it on the Mits remote, just learn the next key stroke to your MX-500.

MikeSRC or anyone else,

I did run into one problem. Do you by chance know where I can get a discrete code for the high resolution input for the DTV component input? I have my HD sat receiver in that input and need the discrete code for it.

Thanks

It should be: DEVICE, followed by PIP, in the list above.

MikeSRC,

Does this work for the the earlier 46807 series? Is the DEVICE key the same as the INPUT key on my remote? If it is, do I press up or down arrow?

Thanks,
Ed

Yes, it does. Use INPUT UP.

HI MikeSRC - Has anyone seen a discrete for Input 5 on Mit? My WS-65909 has Input 5 in the front of the tv.

Thx - Dave

Try the SQV button in the procedure above.

SQV = Input STB or Input 5 (depending on model)

I've edited it to bring it up to date.

Are there discrete codes to go directly to a screen format? (Normal, expand, stretched, etc.)

Thanks!

I know this is an old post, but thought I would update it for the new 2004 Model Mits Gold WS65513

Power = Power On Only
Stop = Power Off Only
Pause = AV Reset (I did not verify this)

Pressing DEVICE followed by:
PIP/POP = ANT-DTV
PIP DEVICE = INP-DTV
PIP Device = Input DTV
1 = Input 1
2 = Input 2
3 = Input 3 - Front of TV inputs
4 = Input 4 - No input 4 on this TV
5 = Component 1
6 = Component 2
SQV = Monolink DVI
QV = Input VGA
PIP CH Up = Antenna A
PIP CH Down = Antenna B

That it is where I started, It helped with all the other, but the component discrete code 5 or 6 still do not work. Any other ideas?

Thanks
