Good luck getting backup software from URC for the mx-450 and probably many others they make. This is one SAD company to deal with.

Hey guys, I know this has been discussed over and over again... I spent the better of 3 hours reading these posts........ but yet I still have to bring up this question........ I have a mx-3000, downloaded the mx-3000 editor software, and ofcourse it is not the latest nor the greates.... My directv HD-21/Dennon avr-788 is not in it. Yes I could "learn" all of the keys I need... but what a royal pain. Is there not someway i can get a better IR database? I got the Remotec Control as a gift, done't know where they got it from.... Any Ideas?

Did you try ANY of the DirectTV codes or Denon codes to see if they work? In many cases the codes in the database will work for multiple devices in the manufacturers' listings.

Custom installers have easy access to the editor software on URC Control Room. Installers need a registration code to establish their account, and they get that code from their sales rep or distributor. Any CI who can legally obtain the product has access to the site. If the installer you know didn't know that, he didn't ask very many questions of his distributor, or ever log on URC's site, where this policy is clearly spelled out.

the real 'spaz' is the person who has several remotes (apparently under warranty) which he cant get serviced. might be because of your inter personal skills. just a thought.

And maybe you've got your head up URC's as. Just a thought. Perhaps if you weren't a total spaz, you'll know I have several URC remotes (about 10) and two are faulty. It's glad to see you're so apple fanboy like you'll still support a company that doesn't give a rats ass about someone who's spend a couple of thousand pounds on URC remotes to even bother give replacement for the two that have gone faulty.

What is the difference between the consumer software and the 'installers' software??
