All, I also seem to have been sucked into the eBay spiral of death, I am currently setting on an MX-980 without software of course and am unable to much less find an authorized dealer to contact (all of the contacts in the Universal site are closed for the Lehi/Salt Lake City area).

If anyone would be kind enough to send a copy of the software, a desperate and broken man would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, I have a customer in my area. He purchased a TX-1000 remote from an unauthorized distributer. (serial number removed)

I'd rather see his remote programmed than unprogrammed, and at this point I would rather not try and sell him a different remote over the one that he purchased.

If anyone can help me get software for this customer, I would appreciate it.

If it has a serial number, you can just enter it in the link on the front page and get the non-updatable software.

If it has no serial number...then the sale was against the law, amongst other things.

Well, I would say against the law, rather against URC policy.

No, selling a product in which the serial number has been removed or defaced is against the law in most states.

It's not so difficult to find software online - at least for MX-900, Live Update also works fine - tested it today.

I have a KP-900 that I purchased and was programmed by an installer. The universal remote site does not accept my serial number and in fact does not even allow me to select the KP-900 from the drop down listin registration. Can someone point me in the right direction for the editor so I can tweak my programming?

Thanks.

Hello Eric,
I have began using the KP-900 on some of my customers homes and know that when downloading to the KP-900, I have to not have the USB plugged in, then press download in KP-900 Editor, then quickly plug in the USB to the KP-900. Of course, I am running Vista. But when will this issue be resolved? It's a little inconveinient, and most people don't know that they have to do this. Your assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.

I have an MX-850

I have been using MX-Editor 1.12.288

When searching the FILES section of the site I found the document called "MX-700, MX-800 & MX-850 Editor Programming Manual" This is the link to the page:

[Link: remotecentral.com]

This PDF discusses MX Editor v1.4 which I cannot seem to get my hands on. When I back to URC's website and put in my serial number, I still get version 1.12.288.

Anyone know how to get version 1.4? It has a Live Update feature that will give me newer codes and firmware.

Hi,

I purchased my MX-700 directly from URC in 2005. I suffered a computer crash, and lost all my backed-up data files, along with my only copy of the MX Editor software (I know - should have stored a copy elsewhere!)

Tried to download the s/w from the URC site using the serial number method - but the system complains the the serial number is invalid - even though I'm typing it EXACTLY as it appears on the S/N label in the battery compartment. (S/N: 0530 000076)

Can some kind soul please send me a copy of the MX Editor s/w?? (I won't tell anyone.....)
