Hi Everyone,
I had a strange thing happen to my MX3000 over the last couple of days, it keep activating the touchscreen itself?

I have reset the MX3000, and also reloaded the configuration file for it, but it still does it.
I have also re-calibrated the screen in the menu.
It also does it on the cradle when charging, or batteries full.

Anyone have this happen before??
I am still under warranty, but I use it every day with Brackens DMX3000 software.

Appreciate any comments
Cheers
Steve

Steve,
I had to turn off the motion sensor feature because mine did similar. It was so sensitive it would seem to come on when the air conditioner would blow on it. It seemed so sensitive that it would come on when I would walk too close to it LOL.

Press and hold the "main" button until the remote menu comes up then turn off the "pickup" option and see if that helps. Don't go near the factory reset button though.

I have also been told that doing the factory reset button then load a blank rcc file followed by your working rcc file will fix many problems created by software errors in the remote.

I was having a similar problem (the backlighting would not turn off) and I tried the fix that Ken has referenced. So far it seems to have worked for me....

I too had something similar happen, but the backlight wasn't just coming on the graphical buttons on the touchscreen were actually "pushing themselves". Apart from being freaky, it also had the benefit of locking out all hard buttons while it went on (and happenned on and off the cradle).

Long story short, URC tech support is great...we tried a few things on the phone and ultimately the unit had to go in for a new touchscreen. Just thought I'd throw that out there in case it helps.

Thanks Guy's,
I did already turn off the motion option, but it still did it.

I haveloaded a blank file, then reloaded my configuration file and also updated the firmware, seem stable now. No ON/OFF cycles so far.

I will see what happens over the next week,

Appreciate all the comments/help

Steve,

Keep us posted. I'm very curious to see if the fix works as well for you as it did for me.

How do you update the firmware on the MX3000?

I seem to have the exact opposite problem you are experience. My 1 day old MX-3000 is very INSENSITIVE to motion. I have to nearly shake the remote for it to recoginize the motion and turn on. Does this sound different from what others are experiencing with the motion sensing Wake-up feature?

The original disc that was supplied with the remote has the old firmware version,

Do a live update on the MX3000 software, it will get the updated files and firmware.

Download the remote, Hey Presto, all done and fixed.

Hope this helps.
