I've narrowed my choices down to either a 900 or 950? Would like some opinions on both. What do I gain (charging base) on a 950 over a 900 that would warrant $250.

I think the 900 would do everthing that I'm interested in, but want to be sure.

Thanks for all the help.

The real advantages of the 950 over the 900 would be the ability to use variables in programming, ability to use simple graphics, .wav files for sound, having 10 LCD buttons VS 6 on the 900, also the 950 backlight color can be changed per device. The 900 is fixed blue for all pages.

For many people the 900 is sufficient. I have one and I love it, I think 6 LCD buttons is enough for most people, and if you need more it is easy to switch back and forth between pages with the page - / page + buttons. I also have a 950, many people here like the use of variables in the 950 to track the power state of a device with no discrete commands. I use variables to accomplish other things since my equipment has discretes.
There are 10 types of people in this world,
There are those who understand binary,
and those who don't!

I personally like the 900 better, due to it's chapter skip hard buttons. The MX-950, however, is pretty much "unlimited" in it's capabilities...255 devices, 255 pages per device. You can control a whole house worth of equipment with it. If you don't need to do that, then the 900 is a great remote and I personally like it better for single-zone applications.

Thank you,
Damon DG

Damon, do you still prefer the 850 over the 900? It "seemed" like you did before.
