2 mx 850 questions:
i would like the last step of my "tv on" macro to be some kind of jump to the first "favorites" page. the "goto" button on the macro maker doesn't appear to offer favorites as an option. what am i missing?
also, the main power on and power off buttons appear to control the power to a device when that device page is open. can this be prevented? i would like to do a shut everything off "push and hold" macro on the power off button on all device pages (so as to avoid incidental shut-downs.) my problem is the power off button both shuts off and turns on my hughes hd directv sat receiver while open to that device page and i don't know why. the hughes has discrete codes for on and off on its device page and they don't work both ways when you use those lcd buttons. only the power off button creates this toggle effect. what can i do?? when i put a macro on the power off button using a delay as the first command and then test it by tapping the power off button (for less time than the delay), the hughes unit still shuts off because the remote is issuing the crazy power command before it ever gets to the macro. i need to prevent the remote from issuing any commands prior to performing the macro. can this be done?
i do not have this problem with any other device (and should not have it with the hughes because it has discrete power codes) and i admit i am irritated by this minor issue.
otherwise very pleased with the mx850 as my first universal remote and have found this forum very useful. thank you for your help.

As for the goto FAV page it's not possible. You could create another page with some channels under a valid device and jump there if you wish.
As for the power buttons while on each device, you have to remove those commands if you don't want them there and you can learn those as macros like most ppl do from the main page. There are no push and hold macros on the 850. The hard on (green) and off (red) buttons while on the hughes page are most likely both the same toggle power command. Just because the IR database has a p-on and p-off on the lcd doesn't always mean it's legit.
I'm not really sure what you are trying to accomplish with this macro, maybe it's your wording or maybe it's me, but if all you are trying to do is an all off macro from the hughes page just delete the toggle power from that button and make that button a macro from your p-off discretes if you have them.
