Has anybody come across (or created) any working DISCRETE codes for zone 2 control of a Pioneer reciever?

Specifically I am referring to the VSX-52TX receiver.

The "older" VSX recievers used the same codes in zone 2 as they used in zone 1 but had a special IR input on the back for codes meant to control zone 2. The IR input still exists, but accepts zone 1 and zone 2 commands now and therefore there is a new set of codes for zone 2 (on the factory remote it's SHIFT + "code") ... this works fine, but now the discrete ON and OFF can only serve to control zone 1, and a separate set of discrete ON and OFF codes for zone 2 do not exist (I have so far checked the MX-850 postings, as well as Pronto and Crestron database). If anybody has them, please help :)

The VSX-52TX (54 & 56 as well) only have a Power Toggle for Room 2. The current models are the first Pioneer's to offer discrete On & Off for Room 2 & 3.
I didn't see it in the MX-850 editor so here it is as Pronto Hex.

Thanks, but as I stated I already tried the Pronto codes and toggle codes will not help me with this issue.

Are you saying that even newer models (newer than the 52TX) DO have discrete power codes for zone 2?

Although the VSX-52 is still available it is not the newest model. It was introduced in the Summer of 2004.
The VSX-72TXV and the VSX-74TXVi were introduced last Summer. Both of these have discreet Power On & Off for Rooms 2 & 3.
The 72 & 74 are due to be replaced and 4 new Elite models introduced by July. All of the new models will have discreet On & Off for Room 2 (plus Room 3 for the top 2 models). Fortunately all 4 of these new models will use the same codes that are in the Universal IR Database as the VSX-72 & 74. There will be a couple of additional codes (and fewer for some models) but all else should be the same.

Someone once told me to just use an unused input in zone two for off. But he thinks Nirvana was the best band to come out of Seattle, so he can't be trusted. -Duffy

Hmmmm...must have been one hell of a smart guy, THATS exactly what I do. Good to know the 52TX will "remember" whether zone 2 what on or off after a power loss too.

And come to think of it, Nirvana WAS the best Seattle band, you wanna take this outside?

PS: when u gonna come back and laud your new riches over us?
