I have more components then IR ports on my MRF300. Is there anyway to additional sources to an MRF via a Xantech connecting block?

Thanks,

If you used the xantech the additional ports would not be discretely addressable in the programming IR routing table. Why not just add another mrf300 and assign it a different address from the first mrf 300? Then in your programming devices 7-12 would be on the second mrf and you would have dedicated flasher ports for all of your gear.

I have two emitters running off each of my six ports on my MRF-250 (12 total) in such a way that the two units paired together rarely if ever get sent signals back to back.

It works great.

I checked first with URC engineers and they assured me there was plenty of drive to handle the extra emitters, especially if you are routing.

You can use a commercially available splitter or you can do as I did and do a solder splice (if your comfortable with that sort of thing). As far as the extra emitters go I'll bet you could find a bag or extras from one or more installers that they might be willing to send you at a bargain price.

The MRFs were designed with the unit IDs so you can use up to 15 of them in a single installation, if you chose to. If you used dual-headed emitters, you can address two components to a single port.

Thank you,

Thanks for the suggestion. I already had a Xantech Connecting block and was wondering If I could take the output of the last IR port and split to about 5-6 components. I don't anticipate any problems with the components sharing and IR port since they are different manufacuters. Anyway just wondering if the Xantech Connecting block can accept and distribute a flasher input.

I've used this product in the past for exactly what you're looking to do:

Works perfectly with the MRF-300 and the Xantech block.

If you take 1/8"plug into the MRF-300 and the tip wire into signal and the sleeve wire into ground it will work fine. you will need a powered connecting block.

I've used the same product for a couple different applications and it works great.
